Spirituality, mysticism and the energy of the life force are
preoccupations in my work. These concerns are explored in
the depiction of nature or the figure, Spirituality exists
in my mixed media work in the form of its association with
text and language. The word Asanas comes from the Sanskrit
word for body positions. The human form is the inspiration
and they become a series of gestural figures that move
between calligraphy and my own writing. They record the
ephemeral energy emitted from the figure and they become
text or an elemental language.
